Hi Laurie,
Thankyou for your response,I fully agree with you.Positive out come-She has been changed back to another class to the level she deserves to be in.Four different teachers asked her why she didn't want to be a part of her original class and she simply told them she wasn't learning anything.Paid to speak up in the long run...
 Thankyou for your well wishes,
Best wishes

Hi Tanya.
Thanks for sharing your daughter's story. Stories like this are important because we are facing changes in standards at many levels. It is important that ALL teachers see that what is happening to your daughter is a crime against her creative potential which is desperately needed at this time in history. One thing I try to get teachers to relate to is their individual mission - what is their goal as a teacher? If they are not willing to wear this on their arm as a mission statement for the whole world to see they should change jobs. They cannot blame the system - they are the system.
I wish your daughter well in her final years and hope this set back only makes her more determined to be the solution to the problem.
Thank you again.

Dear Laurie,
Interesting!!
Just like to share a little story with you.My 17 year old daughter is in year 11 at Vicentia High.Only a couple of weeks ago she came home from school and told us she wanted to change her Maths class. When we asked her ''why'? her reply was'' it is too boring in that class because my (male) teacher was too leanient at the beginning of the year . I go to every 50 minute lesson putting up with a class full of clowns that the teacher also mucks around with and has no control of....I am losing interest and not learning anything''!...She was changed to a different class HOWEVER,was put into a lower level. The excuse was there was not enough room for her in the same level. She is a bright young lady and likes a joke herself, I just don't see the fairness in it if she was there to try, especially when approaching yr12.This is a school of 1100 kids and they are expecting 1250 next year.I understand the hard task of having to stand infront a classroom full of teenagers and not to make a Maths lesson boring, however I feel my daughter has been let down by the system and to no fault of her own. Please don't get me wrong Laurie, I am not critisising every school or teacher,I give a lot of teachers credit for what they do.
It's lovely to see you have a passion to try and find ways to make teaching more satisfying and enjoyable, not only for the teachers but for our kids as well.Congratulations with your speech.
