Why meditate?
Lawrence has been meditating for over two decades. He has discovered that there are many uses for meditation but ultimately it is a tool to experience who we truly are.
Meditation is like bathing. When we bathe we clean our body and feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Meditation is a practice of freedom, whereby you feel free, clean, rejuvenated and refreshed.
Why is this important?
Lawrence has discovered that unless we rejuvenate ourselves on a daily basis, over time. we become encrusted with inertia, doubt and cynicism. Meditation frees us, and when we meditate consistently it becomes a positive habit. When it becomes a positive habit things get easier. So when we are feeling depressed, angry, or we are experiencing anything unpleasant, meditation can help us let it be as it is. It enables you to let go of the sense that something is wrong. Similarly, when our mind is chatting incessantly, Lawrence can explain how you can access meditation and free yourself from distraction instantaneously.
Without daily practice, this is a very difficult thing to do as the habits are strong. It would be like trying to do a full workout with heavy weights if we have not been practicing. More than likely we would fail in our efforts and worse still, we may become cynical or doubtful about the possibility of controling our mind and emotions.
To transform we must know we can transcend the daily chatter of the mind and experience the deep existential relaxation of who we are as consciousness. Over time our mind will start to be more open, receptive and able to effortlessly access deeper thoughts and creativity.
Meditation helps free us to become joyful, appreciative and fulfilled as human beings. It is a tremendous tool for transformation.
How do we meditate?
Giving you specific instructions, Lawrence guides and introduces you to specially designed sound technologies which help the brain relax and induce states of effortless meditation. Meditation is a slight tension between making effort and making no effort. It is easy to do but takes time to master.
Meditation is an experience not a theory. In this video I want you to taste and experience meditation. Follow these simple rules first.
1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for the next few 10 minutes. Turn off phones. Shut the door.
2. Be as still as you can, sitting upright but relaxed in the shoulders and hips.
3. Keep your eyes on the image or close them gently.
4. Listen to the sounds, preferably with headphones.
5. Pay attention and be curious but keep letting go of everything that comes to your mind. Just say to yourself inwardly "let everything be as it is".
